Donate to the Garcia Family Who Was Tragically Involved in a Fiery Crash
Life can change faster than you can take a single breath. When tragedy strikes we all pray that caring people will come to our rescue.
April 21, 2013, Gloria Garcia and her daughter, Gianna, were critically injured in a crash on the Eden’s Expressway in Chicago when a semi trailer truck struck their vehicle, crushing it and engulfing them in flames. Both mother and daughter suffered life threatening first to third degree burns on their body and hands. Gloria is the family’s only source of income, and now even the near future is uncertain.
This story doesn’t have to end tragically. Innocent people should never be forced to endure the struggles of recovery alone. Please help show the Garcia family what it means to be real heroes. Help us finish the job we started by saving a family.

The Doug Davis Foundation
The Doug Davis Foundation was established to help assist children with various medical, social and family needs. Arizona resident and former Diamondback pitcher Doug Davis started the charity organization in 2008. In 2008, Davis was diagnosed and treated for thyroid cancer. The doctors believe the cancer was successfully removed and has allowed Davis to continue his professional career. This life changing event likely played a part in Doug’s and his wife, Chantelle’s decision to set up a charity organization.
The Doug Davis Foundation has raised over $150,000 for a variety of charitable organizations that focus on bettering the lives of children over the past three years. An annual golf & poker tournament has been the main source of revenue, held each offseason. A number of current and former MLB players, along with other celebrities, are present at these various events to draw large crowds and encourage participation in this noble cause.

For the last 2 years, the proceeds from the Annual Celebrity/Charity Golf & Poker Invitational have gone to the Miracle League of Arizona. Monies were targeted to help build a baseball stadium designed for use by children with special needs, a goal that was realized on March 22, 2011 with the Grand Opening of the Miracle League Field in Scottsdale, AZ.

“The goal of the Doug Davis Foundation is to help children in need, and this fund raiser is one of the biggest ways to do that,” Davis said. “It’s a chance for people to meet and have some fun with current and former baseball stars, while giving back to the community and helping kids.”
